The representation of ESRIUM’s two papers at the IEEE IAVVC 2023 in Austin, Texas, underscores the project’s pivotal role in advancing automated vehicle technologies. The conference, being a leading forum for discussing validation strategies for automated vehicles, provides the perfect platform for presenting ESRIUM’s innovative research.

The paper “Risk Monitoring and Mitigation for Automated Vehicles: A Model Predictive Control Perspective”  contributes significantly to the field by exploring sophisticated model predictive control (MPC) strategies. This research is crucial in addressing the uncertainties and dynamic challenges that automated vehicles face, enhancing safety and reliability in real-world driving conditions.

Similarly, the paper “Real-life Implementation and Comparison of Authenticated Path Following for Automated Vehicles based on Galileo OSNMA Localization” presents groundbreaking work on utilizing the Galileo Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA) for path-following tasks. This research has far-reaching implications for improving the accuracy and security of vehicle localization—a critical component for the safe deployment of automated vehicles.

Both papers not only contribute to the scientific community but also align with industry needs by presenting practical, real-world applications of advanced theories. By showcasing these works at the IEEE IAVVC 2023, ESRIUM demonstrates its commitment to leading the charge in creating robust, secure, and validated automated vehicle systems, setting a benchmark for future innovations in smart mobility.
