and map database specification for connected and automated driving system applications \u2014 Part 2: Logical data model of dynamic data to cover road surface damage use case to include a specific data class for dynamic data services<\/a>. <strong>A proposal for the classification of traffic and CAV-relevant road damage is being developed by the project and will be considered for the technical specification.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/andr%C3%A1s-csepinszky-4342427\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andr\u00e1s Csepinszky<\/a> is the leader of the ISO\/AWI TS international organization comprising 168 national standards bodies as its esteemed members. This non-governmental entity serves as a platform for experts to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and craft market-oriented International Standards, which are entirely voluntary and consensus-based. These standards aim to foster innovation, tackle global challenges, and offer practical solutions. Located in Geneva, Switzerland, its Central Secretariat serves as the heart of ISO&#8217;s operations.\u00a0<\/p><p>Andras, Director of AAT &#8211; ESSRIUM\u00b4s consortium partners, represented the project\u00b4s road damage classification system at this two-week event in May 2023 consisting of a working group meeting and a plenary meeting held in San Antonio, Texas, USA.\u00a0<\/p><p>The involvement of the ESRIUM project in providing input for the development of ISO is of significant importance. In particular, ESRIUM has contributed to the advancement of ISO\/AWI TS 22726-2, which focuses on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and dynamic data for connected and automated driving system applications.<\/p><p>ESRIUM&#8217;s valuable input specifically addresses the road surface damage use case, aiming to enhance the logical data model of dynamic data. By including a dedicated data class for dynamic data services, ESRIUM ensures the comprehensive coverage of road surface damage information, which is crucial for efficient and safe navigation in connected and automated driving systems.<\/p><p>The ESRIUM project has proposed a classification system for traffic and road damage relevant to Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs). This proposal will undergo thorough consideration for inclusion in the technical specification, thus ensuring that standardized guidelines are in place for identifying and classifying road damage that affects CAVs and traffic flow.<\/p><p>Playing a pivotal role in these developments, Andr\u00e1s Csepinszky, the leader of the ISO\/AWI TS 22726-2 drafting team, actively participated in the ISO\/TC 204 meetings held in San Antonio. During these meetings, the Committee Internal Ballot of ISO was initiated for the work item related to ESRIUM&#8217;s contributions, emphasizing the recognition and endorsement of the project&#8217;s expertise.<\/p><p>ESRIUM&#8217;s engagement with ISO reflects its commitment to fostering international standards that promote interoperability, safety, and innovation in the field of intelligent transport systems.
